Product Overview
The NX-VX600 vortex flow meter is engineered for saturated and superheated steam, compressed air, industrial gases and low-viscosity liquids. With an all-welded, no-moving-parts construction and integrated temperature compensation, it delivers stable mass and energy flow measurement up to 400 °C and 250 bar — a workhorse for utility metering, boiler efficiency and process steam distribution.
Working Principle: A bluff body (shedder bar) placed in the flow stream creates alternating vortices downstream (von Kármán vortex street). The frequency of vortex shedding is linearly proportional to the flow velocity across a wide Reynolds number range. A piezoelectric sensor detects the vortices and converts the frequency into volumetric flow — with optional pressure and temperature compensation for direct mass or energy readings.
